A Cancer Research UK survey shows that sunburn is rife as men are skimping on sunscreen. They are also less likely than women to cover up or spend time in the shade to protect their skin from sunburn. Getting sunburnt can increase the risk of malignant melanoma — the most serious type of skin cancer. Despite more women being diagnosed with the disease, more men die from it.
